Google Penguin 2.0 Update Coming Soon
With the carefree days of summer just ahead of us with kids out of school and warm comfortable evenings, you may have been thinking of getting away for a couple of weeks to relax.
However, you’re an online business owner whose paycheck depends on your position in Google. You may want to put some of that relaxing on hold based upon a significant Google algorithm change announced by Matt Cutts this week … Penguin 2.0!
During Matt’s announcement he related that Google 2.0 “will go deeper and have more of an impact then the first version of the Google Penguin update”
Here are my top 3 strategies that you can implement today to prepare your website NOW so you can get back to making your vacation plans and go relax with your friends and family.
1 – Build Out an Upstream Linking Structure!
One my biggest take-aways from Matt’s video was his mention that they would be looking at your upstream and downstream linking structure.
What is upstream? The sites you’re linking to.
What is downstream? The sites that link to your site.
If you have not done this already, make it a habit to link out to authoritative sites within your niche.
2 – Become Awesome
The best way in avoiding slap downs from any Google algorithm update is to build your links in a natural way.
This means that you need to develop awesome content, build an awesome reputation and build an awesome community of followers who will talk and share your content.
3 – Build a Brand!
No, I don’t mean that you got to become a Target, Pepsi or some other big box store.
What I mean is that you MUST identify what separates you from your competition and focus on that.
In the case for this website our brand is focusing on becoming your SEO Roadmap, your roadmap to success by providing you the best tips and strategies in SEO and Internet Marketing in our industry.
In the coming weeks and months you will witness our direction toward achieving this goal with the launch of new videos, content and yes, even a new website.
